Advocate of literacy.

Good Morning from Sophie who is up and about at first light.

She turns out of the gate and heads off up the hill. From a distance she looks like a small haystack.

Close up wind, detritus and copious amounts of mud combine to give her a 'devil may care' air. Nothing a toweling dry won't cure.

Later this morning we shall go to the dog friendly bookstore to pick up the new Maggie Haberman book. The bookstore has a dog bowl, dog treats and tickle dispensing staff. Sophie is a firm advocate of more reading and more visits to the bookstore.

In Georgetown there is a cat café that is filled with rescue cats and kittens who are looking for homes - I wonder what Sophie would think of that? And as far as the new book by Maggie Haberman, Trump supporters are letting known what they think of it.

Tickle-dispensing staff? Well, they could go one step further and provide groomers as well - surely that would be a win for all concerned?!! YAM xx

Such a pretty lady, who wouldn't love her? Read lots, a realy books store, with printed books on the shelf, how nice.

Love the second photo of a distant, just about recognisable Sophie! Treats and tickles - I can see that you will be visiting regularly, Angus, even when you don't want to buy a book.

Interviews with Maggie Habermann confirm what a wise and true journalist she is. The Peter Baker Susan Glasser book is also worth a heft.
