We take a seat at a table outside. On the other side of the road there's a large shiny black Land Rover. It's pristine. Not a speck of mud on it. Clearly the owner has never been anywhere near a farm track. Angus orders a bacon roll and a coffee. The lady behind the counter asks if Sophie would object to being tickled. ' Not if you've got a biscuit in your hand ' I reply, truthfully. A biscuit, and a tickle, follow. Our order arrives. It's at this point the PONettes happiness goes off the scale. There is a bacon sandwich ( can anything match a small piece of bread roll with hint of bacon ? ) and on top of the cardboard coffee cup a JAFFA CAKE !!!! Jaffa Cakes ( with the chocolate removed ) have been the ultimate treat for all our PONs and Sophie is no exception. There are 'I'm sorry but I can't help myself' squeaks of delight from the family diva.
Our daily routine may now revolve around a new cafe. In fact, as far as Sophie's concerned, our daily routine will revolve around a new cafe. Her tail is still waving as she's encouraged along the road to the bread shop.
Must be a story here but I don't know what it is :https://twitter.com/fasc1nate/status/1584940842800017409

I've often wondered if you help out with the Jaffa cake chocolate or perhaps Sophie has so few that she goes with the flow.
Potty - window cleaners, visiting electricians and anyone who has frequent meetings with Sophie is taught to 'dechocolate' Jaffa Cakes.
The location of the café has been noted and mentally filed away pending a future visit to St Andrews. Nobby has yet to experience a Jaffa cake, but he just loves dustbin day.
I agree with the bliss that is a bacon roll start to the day, but I don't think my waistline could handle it long term!
With my grain-merchant's daughter's eye I see that winter barley now seems to have been sown in last year's stubble and is already coming through. The field outside our house is exactly the same, and I'm watching its progress day by day. Perhaps a tad behind yours, given we're about 150 miles further north.
What a lovely, "artistic" sunrise this morning.
De-chocolating a Jaffa cake is a messy business, especially in very hot weather, and I always end up with more on me! Eventually I would allow Inca a sliver of chocolate on her bit of cake, and don't think it did any harm as we rarely ate them. Much as we both loved them.
A bacon roll for breakfast AND a Jaffa cake - definitely a win-win today! What could be better now the days are cooler. Soon the hunt for a decent croissant will be a thing of the past. Was there also a half sausage to make joy overload complete!

I am inclined to think that Angus might also have been wriggling his coccyx in pleasure at the bacon roll - a very Scots-appropriate substitute for a croissant! And that is a fine building to gaze upon while supping. YAM xx
You and Sophie are the the ray of happiness in this mornings blog reads, THANK YOU for taking us along.
I think you've found a perfect coffee shop. I noticed they serve LaVazza coffee. It's been my favourite brew for years. I'm enjoying a LaVazza right now but this morning I'm wishing I had a Jaffa cake to go with it, (with the chocolate on of course!)
I was just about to ask about the LaVazza coffee, after seeing the sign in front of the cafe. Only recently the brand started advertising on TV here and we had never heard of it. So it's good...even without a Jaffa Cake?
I like the fun Halloween cookies!
I had a conversation with a patient just yesterday about the very thing you mentioned about the Land Rover. He'd just come from Wyoming where he's from, and he said that pick up trucks there never get washed, and cowboy boots like the ones he always wear aren't a fashion statement.
Lovely to read you've found such a happy place for you and Sophie to visit every Wednesday morning, with food Angus hopefully likes, rubbish bins nearby for Sophie to sniff, and the chance of tickles and a de-chocoalted jaffa cake for the wee girl. Now you just need to convince "The Font" to join you one Wednesday morning and Sophie's tail will go into overdrive!
