Vertical take off.

Village, town and beach thoroughly checked by the PONette. All, with the possible exception of the Jack Russells and the village pig , are declared to be in order. As a reward for such diligence the family diva is taken to the Jaffa Cake cafe for an early morning treat.

The two pigeons that call the front garden home have become four pigeons. They sit on the fence and watch Sophie. This insouciance drives the PONette wild. She emits the concrete shredding shriek reserved for such occasions.  Did you know pigeons can take off vertically ?

So starts a super quiet Scottish Tuesday morning with a Polish Lowland Sheepdog.

Yesterday a super enthusiastic Sophie met an American student making a video on her beach. It's now appeared on YouTube. I wonder why she's been edited out ?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrCun0eE0Qw

The video would have been so much better if Sophie had been in it.
Nobby wants it known that he too is vertical take-off capable.

Great first photo!

How can it be solo hike if the hiker is being filmed from different angles? The inclusion of Sophie would have been a definite improvement.

Jabblog - The answer lies in drone technology

So glad she is making sure the town is in order. Pigs are bacon and sausage seeds, disturbing today, tasty next year.

Can I just say that the photo of Sophie on the strand is one of the best yet? Definitely frameable... YAM xx

I second YAM on the photo; most exceptional.

Third the photo exceptionality.

Yes, definitely an excellent photo of our girl - mistress of all she surveys.
Agree that the video would have been much more interesting with Angus and Sophie in it.

I seem to be alone in favoring the shot of the vertical pigeon takeoff, with extra points given for difficulty, although the shot of Sophie on the beach is also a winner.

We are now in France, safe and sound albeit both jet-lagged and shell-shocked. (I never knew dogs could also suffer from jetlag.)

It's good to know that you have all safely arrived and can begin to get your bearings.
