After five days of strong winds Easter morning dawns calm and fair. Angus is out early watering the newly planted lavenders. The PONs maintain a prudent distance from the hosepipe .
Sophie is astounded to discover that the butterflies are out and about early.
The baker is clearly in seasonal mood. White chocolate 'Happy Easter' motifs on the individual lemon meringue pies.
We find a quiet table at the side of the bar. The PONs are greeted by a variety of Old Farmers. Sophie glares at them. She is soon distracted by the arrival of a bowl of water and a shared portion of croissant. The bar empties out just before eight. There is a start of day funeral in the town church. I didn't think you could have a funeral on Easter Day. Clearly, you can.
This takes a bit of studying but is an intriguing insight into what time people eat. Americans eat early and often.Northern Europeans eat dinner at six. Spaniards at ten. Everyone in France has lunch at twelve.

Wonderful voice and maximalist ear rings. Some Easter music from DC : https://youtu.be/xv-fwxCTMk8?t=5034
And a link that rarely gets looked at - Easter from a hot and sultry Chennai. A special Sari day in the kirk that has the school for blind girls with leprosy. The song is very country and 'hip' - quite an amalgam of cultures. : https://youtu.be/wxz09RkR-Nc?t=1067

Meanwhile, in OZ, everything is shut! My cousin and I had to travel several miles to find anywhere to have lunch... Yup midday eaters here . &*> Blessings to all at the ROF. YAM xx
A more detailed graph would show variation within the UK. The further north you go, the earlier this evening meal. 6pm common in Aberdeen, allowed in Nottingham, regarded as ridiculously early in London.
happ Easter! Enjoy the chocolate egg.
Cheers, Gail.
Happy Easter! Your wisteria is stunning♥
I've often wondered whether you and 'The Font' had changed your eating habits and were taking your main meal of the day at noon. I finally concluded you had not...but am still not certain.
Looks like Sophie is enduring an Easter morning kiss from Bob in the first photo.
No, we still keep dinner as the main meal of the day although we're starting to eat at 7:30 on the dot to aid Angus's digestion.
Happy Easter to you too. The wisteria has suffered in the gales. It may bloom again - twice.
Would think at 6 most Londoners aren't home from the office commute yet.
The Anglo worlds restaurants ( outside the US ) seems to take holidays v seriously.
Happy Easter to all the denizens of the ROF. Even despite clouds and scattered rain last night, the moon shone through.
Those pastry goodies, sigh. I'd probably buy one of each and just eat myself into sugar shock.
Easter Friday and Sunday close everything down here and most small companies close on all four days.
I am happy having lunch at 12 and dinner round 7pm is usual round here.
Happy Easter to the Fab Four! How was the chocolate egg? Worth the wait?
