The PONs are out early. No c-a-t--s this morning but a pair of collar doves walking across the lawn have the PONs howling and hollering out of the front door in hot pursuit.
After this moment of high excitement we head off in search of a croissant, a coffee, a bowl of water and a Good Friday treat.
The cakes in the ultra fancy bakers window are too big for empty nesters but Angus is greatly taken by a chocolate and strawberry concoction .
We opt instead for four small ones to take away.
Two chocolaty things for 'The Font' and two raspberry tarts for Angus. The man behind the counter is not a dog lover so there are no ''incentives" for the angelic duo.
This dogs story is unbelievable :

Bravo to all who made way for Boonrod!!! That's a fine Good Friday tale. Those cakes are looking mighty fine too. YAM xx
Of all the days of Lent, I thought Good Friday was the one without treats. But what do I know? I had chocolate eggs for breakfast.
The cakes look heavenly - every single one.
Boonrod made it into the 'Energy Voice' newsletter of the Aberdeen P&J - a welcome change from stories about strikes over offshore shift changes, rig upgrades and the latest oil industry M&A activity.
Cheers! Gail.
You are of course right but in France temptation is found on every corner.
Ohhh nice cakes. We like this shop.
Glad you made it to Easter Angus. Enjoy your cakes and chocolate.
I am surprised that shops and cafes are open for Good Friday. Everything is closed here today.
Everyhting is open today - just like a normal work day.
Do you suppose that Bob and Sophie have dreams of chasing the doves and then taking flight to follow them?
Bob, probably not. Sophie - definitely.
Ahhhhhhh….the end of Lent.
Those may be the most enticing desserts I have ever seen. I would be happy to sample every single one of them.
I thought Lent wasn't over until Easter Sunday. So now that you have those luscious-looking little cakes, you're going to keep them sitting around looking pretty for the next day or so, right? Right?
