Has a morning ever been so beautiful ?

Good morning from Sophie ...

... and good morning from Bob - who has had a muzzle trim.

A heron on the village pond. Pheasants and partridges hiding amid the barley. Two deer standing, unmoving, in the shoulder high wheat. Has a morning ever been so beautiful ?

At the abbey doorway a pile of olive branches from yesterdays Palm Sunday service.

A detour to the fancy cake shop.

A coffee Religeuse for me and a strawberry and almond concoction for 'The Font'. Choux pastry crumbs for Bob and Sophie. Bob is so excited he has a joy overload and does his soft shoe shuffle as we head back to the car. Walking in a straight line, when you're so full of happiness, can be difficult.

Angus collects the Easter Egg that he ordered two weeks ago. It will be embargoed until Easter.

Here's a wonderful way to start a Monday. This article on moles from the London Review of Books is nature writing at its best. '' Their kidneys are so efficient that many species can go their entire lives without drinking a drop of water " and the even more humbling line 'a reminder that we do not know what shares the world with us , and in what numbers ' : https://www.lrb.co.uk/v41/n08/katherine-rundell/consider-the-golden-mole

The chart in this article shows just how much more the US spends per capita on health care than anyone else ... and yet  .. : https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-04-10/bernie-sanders-s-medicare-for-all-plan-pus-democrats-in-a-bind?srnd=opinion&cmpid%3D=socialflow-twitter-view&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&utm_content=view

Is Angus now counting down the hours until Easter Sunday?

Not hours; minutes.

A mocha religieuse is allowed because it's really like coffee and not chocolate, or because it's religious? Because I always thought Lent lasted until Easter, not Palm Sunday.
Will you be announcing the results of the Lenten regime?

Any excuse will do .

Bernie Sanders will subject himself to a Town Hall on Fox News tonight. No doubt he'll be asked plenty of questions about Medicare for All. Enthusiasm seems to be wavering...even among many on the left.
Certainly a beautiful morning for Tiger Woods! The entire country seems to be celebrating his triumph.

I wouldn't count on Fox News practicing journalistic impartiality.
Will we see a picture of the revealed egg, come the day? Glimpsed through the cellophane, it looks quite splendid.

One of many contributing factors to the very high costs of US health care: The CEO of one of the BigPharma companies will now be paid nearly $28 million.
Costs of prescription drugs rise at about 10 percent annually.

And good morning to you, as well. (At least it's still morning in California.) The bakery displays are luscious and then there is the Easter egg . . . and here words fail me. Long anticipated enjoyment almost here.

There are other costs. $28 million seems to be a good approximation of what it costs to qualify in surgery.

It will be revealed in all its glory - although it's smaller than Angus had hoped.

The young lady let me try her red fruit chocolate buttons. One button can't be breeching the terms of abstinence - can it ?
