The chirruping threat.
Bob stands on his stump seat and barks at everything that moves.
Sophie provides expert guidance in the kitchen
After lunch there's five hours for chasing round the garden at high speed. Most dogs would stop for a couple of hours rest. Not these two.
'The Font' finally calls them inside and brings a stuffed toy out of the 'emergency' box. The stuffed toy has a device inside that makes real bird calls. Sophie finds it intriguing.
Bob is petrified by it. He hides under a table. Half an hour has to be spent reassuring him. The toy is put away. Sophie sits in front of the cupboard it's been 'hidden' in and howls.
On the phone 'The Font' wonders whether it's entirely natural for two dogs to have this much energy. Angus unhelpfully points out that all two year old dogs are like this. It's their owners energy levels that 'mature'.
