A good laugh is sunshine in the house.

The workmen finish replacing the windows on the terrace. They make a start on the bathrooms. Being 'fancy' builders they spend much of the day covering the floors with dust sheets.  Bob and Sophie are intrigued.

I'd hoped that the  builders would have moved their workbenches from the part of the house they've just finished to the part they're just starting on. '' Sorry Guv. Can't be done . We need the sockets ". Angus comes to terms with living like a squatter in his own house.

In the afternoon the builders dig up the lawn to find the stopcock to turn off the water. A painter arrives and daubs Miroesque blotches on a wall. Someone  trips a fuse which smolders gently but acridly away.

Bob and Sophie find the whole process to be tantalizingly wonderful. An audience. digestive biscuits, interesting smells and dust covers to be shredded. What could be better ?

I rather like the Miroesque mural. Perhaps that's the way to go? Save any arguments about which is the preferred shade....

Bob the Shredder. A fellow enjoying his work, tail mid wag. Many a parcel has suffered the same fate in this house. A proprietorial paw over his next project?
Have you changed the colour on your shutters, or is it the light?
Have a lovely day.

Think it must be the lens on the i-Phone that give the shutters a green tinge !

Agreed !

ANGUS - clearly BOB is trying to tell you that 'decoupage' is the way to go, rather than going through the trials of selecting a colour from the choices presented on the Miroesque mural. Yes.......'decoupage.' Think of the help that BOB and SOPHIE can offer, if that is the way you choose to go. Greetings from the Westcoast of Canada.

I can't imagine you living like a squatter for another month or more...I feel your pain.
Hope you're checking for new house slippers online....don't say I didn't warn you.
How on earth are you and the Font going to choose between all those paint samples on the wall....wish you luck.
Hope the electric fuse repair was quick and easy. Sometimes when I have workmen over with lots of power hungry tools, I turn off lots of other breakers in the panel box. Old houses and their wiring I'm an expert on now.
I don't hire "Fancy builders", I lay out the dust cloths myself. I had a bill once which included that process in the breakdown cost. WHAT???

Love the picture of Bob protecting "his" shoe...what a prize! The house is looking good, nothing worth doing happens quickly, have patience it will eventually turn into yet another project.

At least Bob and Sophie are enjoying all the hubbub! Hopefully, it doesn't last long!

Still can't comment on Tales and tails. Must be a France Telco thing. What a good idea it is to have a puppy hop at five weeks .

You are living the life we have been stuck in for the past two months. I've decided I really detest workmen in the house, no matter how much material they provide. We were fortunate in our wallpaper men. They played Frank Sinatra 12 hrs a day, singing along lustily. Could have been worse. The roofers come today and I have an idea one of us will have to spirit Edward and Apple away to a quiet park or country lane for awhile. Could be worse.
Good luck with your improvements!

Have to say your house sounds a little chaotic. Thank goodness for Pon pups!

And apparently a slipper! I like the color on the right....

That last picture is priceless. Splotches of paint on the wall are good, they let you see what it'll look like in different lights. That process has saved me more than once from choosing a color that looked great during the day and terrible at night. Or vice versa.

I like the paler creamy color. It's airy and fresh. Do I gelt a vote?

Why does Bob look so adorable when he is up to mischief?

Soon you will have to drop the Rickety, it will just be The Old Farmhouse.

And even more socialization for them! I bet that there won't be a shy bone in their bodies when they're grown up!
