America comes to France profonde. A Wild West night in a local village hall. You know it's an American night because they're serving brownies. Chef Ciril is also serving that Wild West staple - pork poitrine and pomme puree aux herbes fines.
When we first moved to France a Polish Lowland Sheepdog by the name of Digby disappeared on Hogmanay with a pair of thick woolen socks I wear with my kilt. Yesterday, these were rediscovered by Sophie. Nearly four years in a hedgerow has given the socks a flavour and texture she clearly finds irresistible. Brother and sister play with the old socks until it gets dark. Then, tired out, they come inside and sleep until a village cat wanders into the garden and wakes them up at four.
I was wondering where those socks had gotten to! :)
Did the socks of a Scotsman (who are generally not known for spending money replacing things that still have a wee bit of life left in them) have holes before or after Wilf hid them? Either answer it is nice to know that Wilf left something behind that made you (and this blog reader) smile!
Finding the socks lost by Digby is kind of like a sign that things have come full circle with your pups--I've no doubt the Boyz would approve!
Those two have to be so freaking happy right now. Sophie must have been in heaven striking pay dirt like that when she found those old long lost socks that had a dog smell and yours as well. She is sharing with Bob in her own way.
I loved the videos today, they made me smile.
Have a great weekend.
What a great find by Sophie! I love the way they play together, especially with Digby's hidden socks!
Well, I live in Texas, and one has a better chance of
the local barbecue joint serving old socks with your
order than apple sauce (aux fines herbes!).
Enjoy the brownies! Socks are a 2nd favorite of Tucker's in case he can't find his duck. If you ever need extras, give us a bell.
It cracks me up to see them walking all over each other with such blatant disregard. Your rose garden looks beautiful.
Ah, Digby's sock.
Could he be bestowing his blessing on the newest members of the family?
The amazing similarities in character between the generations is leading us to wonder if PON's can be reincarnated !
Ha ha ha! I love the story about the socks! It makes me smile to think maybe he left them there to give us all a smile after he was gone. :)
I need to know, were you missing an entire pair or just one?
If there is something "stinky" these dogs will track it down!
