Healing happens when you sleep.

After a double helping of sea bass and wild rice Sophie is put in her cage at ten. She sleeps soundly through until six. Bob won't be separated from her. We move his pen so that he can see his sister. After much grumbling about being apart he also sleeps all the way through .

This morning the crying over. She's a lively and calm as she was 24 hours ago. 'The font' changes her tee shirt. Stitches in order . More Sea Bass , wolfed down. The vet was right about the pain meds. Sophie will be spending her day in the kitchen recuperating  although she'd much prefer to be out digging in the compost heap.

Bob spends half an hour learning to play touch rugby in the upstairs hallway. The builders dust sheets make this trickier than it looks. Braking distances difficult to judge.  A slight problem with a flower brick . Bob gives me a look that says " Oops !. I'm glad it wasn't me that broke that " . He moves onto chewing a carpet in the drawing room.

Here's a video to put a chill into a music loving dog owners heart.

And.......how is ANGUS doing! I feel this must be your first 'daughter', and that she is (indeed) Daddy's girl. So very relieved that the healing is taking place, and that the 'Seabass/Wild Rice/Tee Shirt/Brother Nearby' formula
is just the ticket. Much relief, much happiness, on the Westcoast of Canada for all four of you. Whew! (you do realize that we all go through this with you!)

Bob will be rug surfing before you know it. Is it a PON thing?

Glad Sophie has perked up today and hopefully ridden out the worst. She'll be resuming excavations in no time at all.

Not a PON thing. Just a very long , slidey, tiled hallway and lots and lots of pent up energy !

Happy news this morning.....so glad that Sophie's appetite is intact (mine would be too with that menu selection) and she's lively and calm today.
Brother Bob will do his big brother care routine, and Sophie will be up and about "gardening" soon.
The dog singing video was cute, but Brownie was not impressed....he thinks he can do better.
Love and best healing wishes to all of you.

Great news about Sophie. But what is touch rugby ?(excuse my ignorance ) Is this where you change the rugby ball for a flower brick ? Mmmm, can't imagine 'the font' will approve.

Angus throws a small soft rugby hall down the hall and then dog and master chase after it. This may sometimes coincide with rug surfing where a fast moving PON meets arug on a polished tile floor. 2 sports in 1 ! Occasionally a flower brick or vase will get in the way of the ball.

So happy this little pup is doing better -- more sea bass!!!! Loving tickles also to Bob - looks unusual lonesome in the pictures - a bit lost without his sister - love from Southern Italy Susanne, Daisy and Kirilirili

i lasted for 41 seconds on the video, that dog was enjoying himself.
Excellent news about Sophie. Sounds like Angus has the most challenge keeping Bob occupied.

41 seconds ! Must be a record .

What a joy the piano playing dog is. You could forget the touch rugby and get Le Howler Bob up to the piano.
In a short matter of time, he would probably be glad to take your requests. Even Madame Bay might find it highly amusing to sing and dance to.

Great to hear Little Sophie is doing well, she will heal fast!

Cheers,
Jo

Yeah! So happy dat Sophie's recovery is going well.
I like to play touch rugby too…. but I don't like to give the ball up.

I bet that's hilarious to watch. Do you also get the cartoon dog where the legs scrabble like mad, they don't get any purchase and all that happens is the carpet rucks up and the puppy goes nowhere ? Then the paws get purchase and puppy shoots off like a bullet.

Ranger - A Scottie should never ever give the ball up.

So glad that Sophie is feeling better. I hope she gets to start playing again very soon!

I hear sea bass cures all....glad to hear darling Sophie is moving along. In no time she will be picking up the ball and participating in the touch rugby!

So happy to see Sophie looking so normal in her stylish and practically short (ha) tshirt.

The piano playing dog looks incredibly like our dog Kioko. Incredibly! Thankfully Kioko does not fancy himself a crooner. Our teen daughter who has never laid a hand in anger on an animal said she would have to hurt Kioko if he did that. I said we would have to get rid of the piano.

Kioko is not a pedigree but does have a good measure of poodle in him, along with bichon. The piano player must be a very similar mix as they pretty much look like identical twins.

We're thrilled to hear the vet was right and Sophie is on her road to recovery. I still would have wanted pain med but that's just me.
The shirt your vet used is perfect! It probably helped her to sleep comfortably as most animals find those surgical collars most annoying. We know you will give her the easiest of recoveries with your expert care. Love to all.

I'm glad Sophie is recovering well! :)

That video is a riot! A certain oversized black puppy felt he needed to sing along with it, too.

I'm sure a certain oversized puppy would have been more tuneful !
