Crime is naught but misdirected energy.

Sunday. A day of rest. Or so it might be if you're not owners of Polish Lowland Sheepdog puppies. Sophie starts the day digging. Her brother joins in. Delight when they uncover the stones that I'd buried the day before. Today's excavations positioned to wreck the suspension of any cars or vans that might come down the drive.

At the bottom of the hole the possible cause of this canine digging frenzy. Large, fresh, juicy earthworms. The snack you can eat between meals without ruining your appetite.

Hmmm. I see a battle of wills ahead. How long can Sophie's digging phase continue before Angus calls the local tarmac men?

The mystery has been solved!!! Now we know why Sophie likes digging in that area.....who would have thought that?

We detect a look of bewilderment at the stones in the hole.

Any sense of bewilderment didn't last long. The stones were soon pushed aside.

I understood the large stones for the hole being actual hole size, Maybe from a garden shop or a gravel company. As long as they are small enough to push them around, by Ms. Sophie, it will still be fun for her, I think Sophie wants and needs a job, my suggestion she attend herding school is a serious one.

Earth and earthworms ~ not the most appealing recipe for a puppy kiss !!

They would definitely win any Bush Tucker Challenge (apologies, currently bored witless in UK at parents).

Is there anything you could put in the
hole that would have an unappealing taste? Roundworms can possibly be transmitted be eating earthworms.
Ugh!

Wow, who knew earth worms could give you so much energy !

Maybe it's time to reconsider what someone suggested at an earlier post...carefully hiding an inflated balloon under the gravel in a favorite digging spot. Maybe rub the balloon with an earthworm first so the area smells enticing. Hopefully it would only take one "POP" to cure the driveway destruction...

Your driveway holes want boulders, not mere stones. Perhaps you need a herd of sheep to keep the children really busy.

Did Wilf and Digby do that kind of digging and general mayhem as pups?

Oh yuck. Worms make me shudder, always did. Anyone who wanted to torture my young self and see me run like a rocket needed only to shake an earthworm at me. Shudder.

I hope they don't have that mushroom effect
