The call of God.

Bob and 'The Font' head off for a power walk round the lake. This leaves Sophie alone with Angus.

Sophie shows her enthusiasm for the new day by making a variety of modulating whines and whistles. Impatience takes many forms - few as evident as a PON diva waiting for her morning promenade.

Sophie is not an energetic walker. Today she is in a particularly determined stop and sniff the flowers mood. We stand and watch the donkeys.

Then we stand and watch the cows before moving onto the next field and carefully studying the horses. As we saunter back to The Rickety Old Farmhouse we find 1) a part of a blackbirds wing 2) some badger poo and 3) a chocolate wrapper thrown out of a car by a passing motorist.

Passing the open church door I spot a new sign. '' It's possible that you come into the church seeking the call of God. However, it's unlikely he'll contact you by phone. Thank you for turning off your mobile ".

In the afternoon the special needs school have a 'Singathon' on the village green. I'm always surprised by the patient kindness and attentiveness of the ( mostly ) young staff. Today is no exception. The afternoon drifts gently away to the sound of this French classic . The oooh laaa laaa is particularly popular.

We enjoy it the first three times its played. Rather less the fourth and fifth.

The church announcement shows a sense of humor.
Maybe by "Singathon" they meant a marathon of the same song?

Beautiful Sophie...so pleased she takes time to stand and stare. A diva on a morning off :-)

Does Sophie power walk when with The Font?

Sophie doesn't do power walking. Mad chasing accompanied by howling , yes; power walking, no.

'Song' is perhaps too elevated a description for this much loved ( by the French ) rap classic. It is presumably loved here because it's about France.

A diva has to make sure her village is safe from donkeys and cows.

On our walk this morning, such excitement, young Lab found a Fanta can and carried it triumphantly around in her mouth, occasionally tapping it on the road to make sure she didn't drop it. Best bit was when it accidentally fell out of her mouth with a tremendous clatter and rolled all the way down the hill, rapidly pursued by a fortunately silent dog. Not really the sort of noise you want to hear at just gone 7 a.m. when you-re trying to have a lie-in. We thought it was something to tell Bob and Sophie about, in case they happen upon an errant drinks can, but you do need a hard surface for maximum effect !

Love the mobile phone sign....

Hooked up to the National Broadband Network yesterday. Was told to have all my questions ready to ask the technician. The techy answered all questions with 'dunno, not trained in that'. Who knew there was a Global Brotherhood of Morose Lads?
