An unallayed vision of loveliness joins me in the office.
'Rough night ? ' I ask.
Sophie's coat is a wonder of silky thickness. By contrast Bob has a 'quick run through with a comb' type coat.
This morning, while sitting on the concrete storm drain, we wave at the Senegalese melon pickers rushing past on their way to work. They, like shaggy dog owners, start their day early in summer heat. Our first 100+ day forecast.

Such a comical hairstyle. Probably lucky it wasn't followed by a spray of coffee.
Sohpie is looking quite striking!
But I am at the moment happy I live in Scotland. The 30ÂșC heat in Nottingham was too much for Bertie and me!
Cheers, Gail (who is now wondering what proportion of the world's land mass is in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres).
It could be worse: 54 Celsius in Pakistan: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/17/world/asia/climate-change-asia-heat-records.html
Poor Sophie - she needs a personal groomer and stylist ! Bob looks his usual sleek self.
My hair looks like Sophies in the morning.
My hair might stand on end like Sophie's if I contemplated a 100+ forecast today.
Sophie got that look from me - I've been wearing it since the puppy got here on Friday.
I look at Sophie's hairdo and think there must be an entrepreneurial opportunity there for any number of clever souls -- doggie creme rinse and styling lotion, sure to be a winner.
