Windy this morning. Sophie takes her master out for his twinge dispeling walk. We pass the mayor who is removing the Christmas log reindeers from the lawn in front of the church. He's up early. His wife is having a rough time with her latest hip replacement. Beyond the crossroads Sophie strides ahead on the lookout for anything 'interesting' that passing deer or badgers might have left on the roadside verges. On reflection that sentence should read : ' She strides ahead on the lookout for anything 'interesting' that deer or badgers might have passed on the roadside verges'.
We go down to the little waterfall. The family diva spends a full ten minutes soaking up the scents. She's had her harness put on . Her back knees can sometimes do with just a little extra pulling power on the steep, muddy bank.
After our walk, a trip in the car to the bakers and a shared croissant. We discuss the departure of Mayor Pete and Super Tuesday in California. Sophie returns home looking remarkably well groomed considering she's had a lengthy roll in the mud by the stream. She has that look that says there's a fun day ahead.

On reflection, Bertie feels that there is no need for the inverted commas around the word interesting in this context.

Do days begin any better than this??? YAM xx
Bertie is right.
Sorry to see Mayor Pete depart but a wise decision, obviously. Now it's time for Klobuchar and Warren to do some serious thinking. And what about Tulsi Gabbard!
So nice to see a babbling brook. Here in Texas the drought continues
LOVE that last Sophie pic! Are you holding a squirrel? I see adoration in her eyes ;-)
Babbling brook and Tulsi Gabbard in the same sentence ! That's got to win some sort of prize.
It's hope that I'm carrying a string of sausages in my jacket pocket.
The look on Sophie's face in that last photo will surely win her at least a couple of sausages, if you had such things in your pocket!
