Too many chocolatines.
The wind blows. The rain cascades down. Sophie reappears from chasing squirrels sporting her storm battered look. While she dries off Angus speaks to men in dark suits. They are less sure about their view of the world this morning than they were earlier in the week.
At the cafe they've gone overboard on Pain au Chocolat. Angus is offered a free one to go with his croissant. He thanks the young lady behind the counter but says the croissant on its own will be just fine. Sophie gives Angus a look that makes it quite clear she's understood, and disapproves, of what's just been said.
Bliss! The first Gariguettes of the season appear in the greengrocers. For the next eight weeks, while they're in season, Angus will have them for breakfast. ' The Font' doesn't share his enthusiasm for theses slightly 'tangy' strawberries. A couple sliced on the breakfast porridge will suffice.
Blockages on both motorway carriages. What are the chances of that ?
A lengthy delay at the roundabout as the Army and riot police go on manoeuvres. We return to an empty house. This morning 'The Font' is taking the old widow who lives at the crossroads and the old Jewish Parisian lady shopping. The old ladies have both woken up to radio reports that supermarkets are running out of basics.
Another sign I've turned into my father. This looks more like the headquarters of a small pharmaceutical company in a business park rather than a house for sale : https://www.latimes.com/business/real-estate/story/2020-03-03/pharrells-stylish-beverly-hills-mansion-for-sale and here

The strawberries look delicious, enjoy!
Lisa I have been thinking of you and Cherry the last two weeks. Sending healing blessings for Cherry, and your entire family.
Thanks for your thoughts about Cherry. She goes for testing on Monday and then the surgery is scheduled for next Thursday. I was dreading it, but knowing that it has to be done, I now want to get it done quickly before the clinic closes because of the coronavirus or there is some other disruption. From what I've read, splenetic masses are not uncommon in older dogs, and the fact she's still alive and well a couple of months after the vet first saw it suggests the mass that she has is not the worst case that they worry about. Even benign masses are dangerous because they are made up of clotted blood and eventually rupture, so they will remove the spleen in any event, but if it is benign, she should be up and about quickly. (Probably more than anyone wants to know about splenetic masses, but we are all dog lovers here so maybe it will be of use.) Angus, no worries about turning into your father this time, I think, that is just an ugly house! It seems even its owners don't like it very much - the article says that Pharrell Williams is selling after just two years and the prior owner only owned it for one year. Hopefully, they have both downsized into something more homey.
Clearly no shortages of the raw materials for pain au chocolat just yet!
Cherry and her owners can be sure there's a whole world of dog bloggers and PON owners out there wishing them fair winds and following seas for a super speedy recovery.

refusal of a choclatine?! I'm with Sophie... YAM xx
Hear! Hear!

My first and prevailing thought was "Good grief, who's in charge of window washing at that house?" Not to mention all those shiny interior surfaces too! It has to be a full time nightmare job.
I have never turned down an offer of anything chocolatey and unfortunately for my waistline, probably never shall. Very best wishes being sent to Lisa and Cherry.
Yes, wishing Cherry a speedy recovery and fingers crossed that everything goes well. Inca and I send healing thoughts to you all.
No, not the house for me - not a place you could ever call home, is it! It looks more like a film set.
Angus, Sophie really let the side down there by allowing you to refuse a pain au chocolat. Inca is incensed and sympathises with her. It's just the sort of thing her human (me), not being much of a chocolate fan, would do too!
True that! Wishing you all good things and good outcomes.
Another dog I know online just had his spleen removed for a mass on it. Benign. He's on the road to recovery now and feeling much better. I know that will happen for Cherry, too -- best wishes to her for a harmless mass and a rapid return to good health!
