The gardeners show up at dawn to stake up the cypress trees that have blown down in the gales. They were supposed to be here yesterday afternoon. Sophie, who has been chasing squirrels, lets me know the men are waiting in their van. She refuses to let them in. Faced with a determined PONette they wisely wait for me to open the gate.
Our morning croissant a lacklustre affair. Sophie doesn't understand the word 'lacklustre'. She thinks it's nothing short of brilliant. Her tail goes into overdrive as she sees me carry the tray across to our table. This morning we discuss Super Tuesday and wonder whether Milwaukee will see a unity candidate emerge. Sophie wonders if Sherrod Brown could be one to watch.
By the time we're on the road heading home it's started to rain again. A cold, wet, Scottish day is forecast. Sophie , exhausted after weighing up world affairs, will position herself in the kitchen to observe lunch being prepared. It is almost certain that 'tasty morsels' will come her way.

Based on that last photo, it surely does seem like a good day to stay warm in the kitchen.
Not for the first time, a reference on this blog has me googling an American politician to keep informed.
Cheers! Gail.

Yup. Driech. Kitchen weather fur sure. YAM xx
Sunny, warm, but very windy here today. Inca would swap places with Sophie in the kitchen, if it means tasty morsels. No chance of those here - her human is lunching out!
Does look a bit gloomy. We're supposed to be in for a day of rain--in our case, delightful.
Sherrod Brown is a good man. Brown being a Midwesterner doesn't hurt either.
