Keep calling.

Another of those iconoclast days that thinks it's June rather than November. Bright and sunny and warm. Sophie races along the lane to the storm drain where she pauses and waits for me to catch up. I sit down on the cold concrete, legs dangling over the side. The perfect place for dog and master to PONder world affairs. This morning Sophie demonstrates her ability to walk by the cows as though they don't exist. She carefully makes sure she doesn't so much as glance in their direction. What can't be seen, can't threaten. I congratulate her on displaying such bravery.

We're worried about Loic.  He usually shows up on a Friday morning for a ride on the lawn tractor and the excitement of some leaf blowing. He fails to show and there's no reply from his mobile phone - although he more often than not forgets where he's put it. There's also no reply from the matrons mobile phone or from the homes landline. Gods happy folk, particularly those with diabetes , are at particular risk at times like these. Let's hope all is well and he's here on Monday. In the meantime we'll keep calling.  Is it better to know about the pandemic or be totally unaware of its dangers ?  How do you explain, let alone control, social distancing to 'happy' company adoring folk like Loic ?

Seems gorillas DNA is so close to humans they are at risk during the pandemic - https://wilderness-safaris.com/our-camps/countries/rwanda/regions

Fingers crossed for Loic and matron and all the residents of the care home. It's got into a couple of retirement homes and one like Loic's locally here in the Touraine. Just awful for everyone concerned.

Please can you update us when you hear? We, too, will worry

Here too we anxiously await news from Loic's home.
In the wider world, Bertie and I consider November a good month so far for the prospects of greater civility in public life - Trump dumped and Cummings going. It's not all bad news!
Cheers, Gail.

I also hope that Loic is OK. Even with all the news, the virus sometimes feels quite far away, but then a little needle of fear like this makes it suddenly real. I do agree with Gail, though, that things seem to be moving in the right direction, with a vaccine on the way and Trump inevitably on his way. Hopefully we can all hold on a bit longer.

Very troubling news about Loic and no response from his home. Our Veterans Retirement Home here in NH which had proudly managed to remain Covid free since March has suddenly and sadly diagnosed 17 cases in the past 48 hours. Traced to one caregiver. Prayers for them all and an effective safe vaccine soon.

We hope that Loic and all his friends in the care home are safe and well, and it's just a blip on the phone line.
Inca has never seen a cow, but feels that she may not be as brave as Sophie, is she ever came face to face with one.

This is, indeed, disturbing news. When you see him, be sure to tell him how many of us, throughout the world, worried about him and wished him well.
