Christmas Eve. For Sophie a perfect morning for getting out in the garden and digging up molehills. Afterwards, there's nothing like walking through the house with wet, muddy paws to being out the seasonal good cheer in your humans.
Returning from our morning walk we are invited to evening drinks by the German billionaires wife. ' We have family and friends here from Berlin' she says. Angus makes effusive apologies but mingling indoors with a house full of 'maybe vaccinated, maybe not' folks is an unenticing thought at the moment. Does that make us Christmas Grinches ?

Fendi must be thinking they've come up with the perfect stocking stuffer, but others may find it a particularly disturbing example of conspicuous consumption. Japan is a country where branded merchandise is prized but no one uses the kind of bags meant to fit into the Fendi case, so they won't find a market here. I loved today's song. "O Holy Night" is my favorite carol, the more dramatic the better! Merry Christmas to all!
I'm surprised the Japanese don't use the type of bags that fit into the case . Does that mean they use a different type or ( surprisingly for such a perfectionist country ) do you have to watch where you tread very carefully ?
Bertie thinks moles do a great job of pre-digging. It makes it so much easier to get thoroughly muddy paws so much faster.
Gail is going to be a Christmas Grinch today and recommend that anyone who prefers their carols sung without accompanying irritating hand movements to just listen to the music and not watch the video today!
Everyone here seems to use something like this, a plastic bag with a flushable paper inner: https://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/lip-pet/4990968512706.html#&gid=itemImage&pid=1 The only place I've seen the simple bags is at the US Embassy Compound in Tokyo, where they have dispensers.
Yes, the hand movements are very 'theatrical'.
Wishing all at the ROF a very Merry Christmas day and a 2022 that is better than 2021. Thank you for your blog. I've really appreciated reading about daily life in France for you all during this crazy C-19 year, and hope Sophie's Christmas dinner includes some bowl licking treats and a iPhone self-timer family photo of the three of you (even if not published on your blog) to put in the back of your blog photo books with the title "Not Grinches".
Has Sophie managed to sniff out all her presents beneath the tree?
I wonder if Fendi will sell many of these? I have two perfectly good dog shaped plastic containers that came with a pack of 12 rolls x 20 plastic bags! The rest, like Angus, I scrunch up in my pockets. Can't have too many extras! Here we have to wash down the areas our pets soil, so I now have to carry a bottle of water too.
Does that make you grinches? No, that just makes you people that want to stay alive.
Clean nose, dirty paws. Ah, well, Christmas is bound to be a mixed bag this year. If a grinch is someone who not only cares about his own health, but about the health of everyone he comes in contact with, then I guess you qualify! Merry Christmas to all.
Wishing everyone at the ROF and fellow followers of this lovely blog a very Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to everyone in the French Farmhouse, such a sweet little girl - Looks frosty in that last photo
