If you live in the river you should make friends with the crocodiles.

The hugely expensive solar powered swimming pool cover is broken. It emits a high pitched grinding noise then dies.

Angus gets in the car and drives the 60 kilometres to the company that installed it.

Angus : The swimming pool cover won't open.
Woman behind the counter : Are you sure ? Have you tried turning it on ?
Angus : Yes.  It won't open.
Woman behind the counter : That's unusual. They always open.
Angus : Could you get someone over to look at it ?
Woman behind the counter : Have you tried using the crank ?
Angus : It doesn't have a crank.
Woman behind the counter : They all have cranks. Perhaps  you've lost it ?
Angus : No, it never had a crank. Can I buy one ?.
Woman behind the counter : No. We don't sell them. No call for them.

Sometimes , just sometimes, the thought of a little rose covered cottage in the Cotswolds and retailers with Anglo-Saxon logic appears so, so  attractive.

This morning Angus will call the manufacturers. Bob and Sophie enjoy playing on the slime covered net that was stretched over the solar powered pool cover to catch the leaves.

So white and fluffy in the second picture. What happened in the third?

Sounds like Angus is sorely in need of the well known blood pressure lowering properties of canine companionship just now. Bob and Sophie, you have a job to do.

So it looks to me as if they had their bath, looked pristine for a bit and then played in the slime?
With fancy builders, broken lights and now a broken pool cover, it's been a patience testing couple of days for you.
I do hope today is a good one.

A couple of friends who worked in England said getting tradesman was a nightmare....world conspiracy. Good to see the pups are already taking their snoopervision seriously.

I was admiring the clean noses this morning, and then bam!.......two slimy covered angels......adorable.
They're going to love the pool when it's finally open for business.
I was going to ask how come you drove to the company instead of calling, but then I remembered I do that too for some companies....best to show up in person, since you end up playing phone tag if you dare try reaching the company by phone.
Hope the manufacturers were of some assistance.
Hang in there my friend!

Experience teaches that the chances of the pool company answering the phone are exactly zero. After sales service an unheard of concept.

I can tell from the last photo that Miss Sophie and Mister Bob are really effective supervisors. Put them on the job, the indifferent Frenchmen would not be able to resist their charms!

Oh Angus, I know that feeling, and I'm hoping that by the time you read this, there will be some kind of resolution.
