Angus and Bob head off to see Monsieur Bay about the Belgian Lady and the Horse Farm. On their way home they stop off at MacDonalds for a coffee and a macaroon. Bob is given a piece of burger bun by a nice young lady behind the counter. It's taste of America week. One of the specials is that old American classic the Double Shiny Bacon. Surely a mistranslation ? But of what ?

Your MacDonalds is terribly confusing. I think the shiny refers to the roll and the bacon an addition to the burger. Split bread was quite enough of a question but now what can shiny bread be ? After all of this, I'm beginning to eye the macarons with suspicion.

From what I have read, Karl is correct. The shiny part refers to the bun and not the bacon.

I think shiny is probably perfectly descriptive for American style. So many chemicals allowed in US
food (stuff outlawed in Europe, McDonald's have completely different ingredients there) that thereis probably some varnish on the bun!
