Controlling those stress levels.

The country isn't heading into 2020 in a particularly upbeat mood. The train drivers are on strike along with the firefighters. So too the hospital staff. No wonder the little market town is quiet.

The bakers by contrast is humming with early morning baguette buyers. A touch of excitement when a handsome Golden Retriever notices Sophie and is is keen to make her acquaintance. The interest is not shared. We leave. The Golden is told by his master that he has to stay. Sophie emits a single, shrill yap of irritation as we head out of the door. A divas farewell.

After excitement like that ...

... what else can a girl do other than switch off and recharge her batteries ?

Something so far removed from what folks usually read :

A murmuration :

And what a surprise to see a live calf in this Christmas service . Do the cleaning staff get paid double at this time of the year ? :

Oh Sophie, that Golden retriever is really very handsome and only wanted a friendly sniff, I'm sure.
Toodle pip!
PS We have just read that the French tax office will be scanning social media and checking for consistency with tax submissions. We trust affairs are all in order at the ROF and the income declared is consistent with restaurant bills and wine purchases across the year, and the ownership of a high maintenance PON with two titanium hind legs...

I loved the article about the semester with snowflakes - I went to graduate school in New Haven and studied Japanese with an undergraduate class. I am an electrician's daughter, and I thought they were wonderful, remarkable, and I was so happy to read that this veteran's experience was very much like mine. It's a reminder to take everything we read these days with at least a grain of salt. Happy to see Sophie looking so relaxed.

The murmuration of starlings could give rise to rumours of UFO's - they look so other-worldly.
Sophie gave the Golden Retriever exactly the same cold-shoulder that Inca Lab. gave a friend's Samoyed this morning!
