Two mornings a week.

The storms stripping the leaves from the oak trees. Loic, the heavily bifocaled gardener, is now going to do two mornings a week in the garden. We've agreed this with the carers in his home. He does a good job of leaf blowing and he enjoys the thrill of driving the lawn tractor.Sophie's particularly happy to have leaf piles to burrow into twice as often. Loic loves the adventure ... and the company.

Despite my best efforts Sophie maintains her disdainful approach to the car steps.

We try more slivers of cheese to tempt her to use them. She eats the cheese then hops, lithely, into the back of the car. There comes a time in a dog owners life when you know that no matter how much time and effort you put in to a training routine the law of diminishing returns takes over.

There is still an 'atmosphere' in the village. Madame Bay informs us that the gendarmes have started an investigation into the altercation between the man with anger management issues and the builder working at the chateau. Charges are being pressed. The Belgian lady has given a witness statement. This morning Angus notes that there are three builders van sparked on the angry mans grass verge. Safety in numbers approach ?

One of my most favourite seasonal hymns... always a catch in my throat with that one! Hoorah for Loic's happiness and the way it spreads. YAM xx

Maybe she does not like the opening between the steps. Maybe a ramp the folds up would work much better for her.

A favourite carol of mine too. Beautiful.

I admire the Belgian Lady's willingness to speak up since she's on somewhat shaky ground with most of the villagers.
Nobody does disdain like Sophie. Those photos say it all.

While completing a task that did not require my full attention at work this afternoon, I listened to the rest of the St Andrews carol service through my headphones. Interesting address from the Chaplain (1 hr 04 min to 1 hr 26 min) focussing very strongly on climate change. A sign of our times. Cheers, Gail.

The Belgian lady is in her own way quite feisty.

Climate change is something that most of the youthful congregation believe to be important. In this regard they differ from most of the folks who will be voting tomorrow. It will be interesting to see who wins the NE Fife constituency if the students are still there when the polls open.

We are coming round to the view that a ramp may be the solution.

Loic is indeed one of Gods happy ones - particularly if he can get behind the wheel of the lawn tractor.
