What a gale.

Huge gales. 90 mph winds and torrential rain. The power goes on and off all day.

Three of the large cypress trees in the garden are uprooted.

Sophie ventures outside and returns soaked. Her fur seems to be holding three times her body weight in water. The sort of day for a girl to laze around and hope that someone is going to drop a roast chicken on the kitchen floor.

Such a beautiful Christmas (or strictly Advent) music video this morning. Not sure I'm up to listening to more election results analysis, however intelligent, just yet...
Cheers, Gail.

A good day to mooch around and take it easy inside.

Thank you for the links Angus. One of my favourite carols and a VERY interesting, intelligent discussion. Sorry to hear about your cypruses. Can they be rescued?

Here's hoping all the roof tiles are intact. I've listened to part of the political analysis, back for more later. It's going to be so interesting to see how those Labour voters who switched to Conservative feel about their own economic well-being once Brexit is fully in effect. Surely they're in for some surprises.

Fingers crossed for that roast chicken hitting the floor.

I am truly sorry about your cypress trees. Maybe some of their greenery could be used to help decorate the War Memorial? Or a florist would be willing to collect some to use this holiday season. Branches tied together with ribbon would be a lovely surprise for the bakers wife and young lady at the cafe.

Sorry about your trees - Hope no damage was done when they fell.

Very sad about your cypress trees. Our yard is a complete mess of downed branches. Today was so mild (though still windy). We got up to 18 C. It felt like spring. But there's standing water in the vineyards, the rivers are roiling and we have two solid weeks of rain forecast. Will we spend Christmas evacuating from floods? I hope not.
OTOH, if bad weather tamps down the strikes, fine. (No sympathy for privileged folks who get to retire early.)
