Floating gently.

It is windy. It shows. This morning Sophie sports an aerodynamic look.

There has been torrential rain. Large trees, felled by the storms, float by on the river.

Sensible people hurry along to get out of the wind. This PON owner stands in the gale while his furry companion, oblivious of the cold, glares at river detritus.

This mornings croissant looks the part but fails to deliver in terms of  texture or taste .

More conversations with serious folks in Manhattan and Los Angeles. More invites to get on a plane and come for a 'chat' are politely left unanswered. Angus remembers the line of Thomas Paine - 'If  trouble must come let it be in my lifetime so that my children may know peace'.

Turn the volume up time. They played this on France Musique as we headed off for our morning croissant. For a moment I was back in Scotland :https://youtu.be/YfD-vs7lPl8?t=32

It was followed by this which was also fun , but not Scottish:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0oSGt-2hf4&list=OLAK5uy_n5RfOxSY80cALVMW_zjPvw10JPf6BvR2s&index=14

It is windy here too. Currently 28 mph gusting 40 mph according to the Met Office data for Loch Torridon. If I venture outside I too will be sporting a Sophie-style hairdo
Cheers, Gail.

Windy here too, with a heavy mist across the valley below. Can't make up it's mind if it's going to rain. Meanwhile Inca and I will stay snugly indoors - we're not as brave as you and Sophie, Angus. We'll wait for better weather, which looking at the local forecast could be next week.

Sophie's bravery in the face of strong winds is always a marvel. Cherry shared many characteristics with Sophie, but that was not one of them - she hated the wind. I did not know that line from Thomas Paine, but it does resonate. We are currently thinking about getting on a plane next month and traveling to . . . Columbus, Ohio. Of all the places I'd choose for my first outing in more than two years, it almost certainly would not be Columbus, but our son's college running career is more than half way over now and he seems to feel it is time we showed up. At least we will not feel as though we are gallivanting inappropriately in dark times.

The windblown look is very becoming on Sophie.
