Monday mist

A really thick haar this morning . Down on the waters edge visibility is no more than 10 yards.

Sophie's deaf bull terrier friend arrives on the beach. He is overjoyed to see her and waddles with delight as he races towards us across the sand. A real dogs in the mist moment. Sophie shrieks in greeting but her friend can't hear her.

Thick fog does little for the PONettes fur. Despite having had her summer cut she soon manages to look bedraggled.

The Catholic church is having a ( well attended ) coronation mass. Sophie is keen to introduce herself to the congregation but is hurried along. It's a national holiday in the UK today. The village ladies are looking for volunteers to go out and collect plastic from the shore. Parents with pre-teenage children are very keen on this idea.

With the students ( almost ) all gone parking is no longer a problem. We stop the car by the bacon roll and Jaffa Cake cafe.  A decision Sophie can get 100 percent behind. Despite the early hour a bowl of water is provided. A sliver of bacon roll soon follows. How good is that ? The family diva makes a loud and unladylike snort of unfettered  happiness.

So starts a misty Monday morning for a Polish Lowland Sheepdog and her companions in a small ( and quiet ) town on the east coast of Scotland.

These machines haven't arrived here, yet :https://www.axios.com/2023/04/24/reverse-atms-banking-cashless-payments

...and given the success/takeup of "tap and go" technology using one's debit card in the UK and Australia, I don't see those RATMs really making inroads here. The states (and to some extent Canada) are so cash-oriented still, though. Meanwhile, overcast and cool where I am, too - though that is not Dunoon at the moment... YAM xx

A misty morning can play havoc with a girl's hair! A sliver of bacon roll can help ease the pain, and a chocolate-less Jaffa cake can raise the spirits to the stratosphere!!

Your link feels like the opening pages of "The Handmaid's Tale."
I pay everything with cash, just to fight this new technology.

Such a pretty place, and delightful morning for a walk. Thanks for taking us along.

The first two pictures of Sophie and her friend in the haar are especially wonderful.

The first photo is fabulous! From a mugshot to the beach, the Diva sure knows how to work the camera.

The photo of Sophie and her bull terrier friend, with their clear reflections on the beach, could trigger so many stories!
