Blogger problems yesterday. Fridays post goes AWOL. It may reappear as swiftly as it disappeared. Who knows ?
Today, we're off to London on the nine thirty LNER. We're scheduled to arrive at Kings Cross five hours later. After allowing for check in and security the train takes about the same time as flying. It is however much less stressful. Nothing quite matches the security line at Edinburgh airport to get your day off to a nerve jarring start. There has been heavy rain overnight but the train company website says everything is running on schedule. On the way south I'm looking forward to reading this article on dreams :https://www.newyorker.com/science/elements/what-are-dreams-for
Down at the beach cafe two dogs hope that the student yachtsmen queuing up for a coffee will decide to buy them a bacon roll.
A coach has delivered a group of French tourists to a hotel that isn't ready for them. They mill around outside looking unhappy and complaining impassionedly. After the downpour the air is muggy. Luggage blocks the pavement. A few of the more adventurous wander over to look at the municipal flower beds. Their guide is remonstrating with a surprised night watchman . I catch snippets of a less than cheerful interchange. " Sorry. I've called ma manager who'll be along when he's able ". You'd have thought the tour company might have figured their timetable out.

Missed you yesterday.
Enjoy the train ride. You have reminded me that it is high time I restarted Nobby's 'train training'! So far we've only been as far as Stonehaven. I wonder if there will be any dogs on the LNER to London today?
Cheers, Gail.

There is no accounting for the weird and wonderful ways of the Blogger... I've had a week of posts from those I follow not showing in my reader until 24 hours has elapsed from their being published. Who knew that light could travel as slow as snails... maybe 'security' got involved? YAM xx
Having had five Labs. over the years, I'm surprised that they are not at the head of the queue trying to look as though one ever feeds them!
Enjoy your trip to London - such a contrast from your peace and quiet in the last wee house before Denmark.
I have a feeling we'll make good use of the trains if my son continues his studies in the UK, as one of the places he is interested in are easily accessible from Nice by air.
Missed you yesterday, glad to hear it is was blogger and not you that had a difficult day. Enjoy London,
A Saturday in London sounds very nice. Here's hoping you have a safe trip!
Missed you too with a bit of concern that all was well. And then the depressing thought...how would we ever know if it was more than just blogger acting up? Enjoy your train ride to London. I'd choose the train over the plane as well.
You were missed here in Virginia, too, but am glad it was only Blogger misbehaving and no real trouble.
It's been decades since I rode a train but I always loved the glimpses of other communities, other homes, and new landscapes.
Hugs!
Thanks for the link to the article about dreams. Very interesting!
