One underlying truth.

The canine morning ritual. Walk through the village. Paddle/skate in/on the stream. Watch as the old horse is given a carrot. Jump into the car. Greet the waitress at the cafe under the arcades as if she's a long lost friend. Exude surprise and delight at the arrival of an illicit half croissant. Let your tail wave uncontrollably. Bark at the invisible dog on the balcony above the newsagents. Return home for a run round the garden. Noisily savage sibling. Leap onto and off the garden table - repeatedly. Go inside an announce that you've returned and that all is well with the world.

A strange weather phenomenon. The temperature goes from -10 to +7 in the space of quarter of an hour. The heavy hoar frost on the trees starts to fall like snow . We stand in the garden under cloudless blue skies and watch as a blizzard engulfs the orchard. The plane trees along the Lane doing the same thing.

The Post Lady brings the ninth volume of our PON focused e-book. One underlying truth. When you travel with dogs you're never alone. Someone will always come up, laugh and start a conversation.

An article from the weekend FT about an exhibition in New York ( hope it's accessible behind the firewall ) is delightful. The photographs of the four sisters says so much.    http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/3500bfe4-8a1f-11e4-9b5f-00144feabdc0.html?siteedition=intl#slide39

The firewall seems to stop folks accessing the FT site. Here's the NYT alternative http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/10/03/magazine/01-brown-sisters-forty-years.html?_r=0

Firewall prevents access to FT site. So instead just google...Nicholas Nixon: 40 Years The Brown Sisters. The MoNA link is the best. Delightful.

How annoying that the firewall kicks in ...

Thank you. I'll add the new link.

Love the pictures of the sisters over the years, especially how they got visibly closer and happier as the years went by. Finding the same is happening with my siblings. We are all mellowing and learning to be comfortable within ourselves and with each other.

What glorious days for the PON duo and thanks to you Angus we get to enjoy every day with Bob and Sophie.
Always my first blog to check in with every morning even before checking in on my own blog...if that isn't admiration I don't know what is.
To think that we are already at Volume 2 of Bob and Sophie's French Adventure...it seems like just yesterday you brought them home from the breeder.
They're growing older every day and maturing into their own just like the Brown Sisters....what an interesting story.

With the thaw comes the mud. Happy grooming, Angus. As noted by
by Heda, it is interesting how the sisters draw physically closer in their
poses over the years. Coming back later to look at some of the other
families. No firewall problems here.

The sister's portraits fascinated me when I first saw them. Aging is so definite, yet almost imperceptible whilst occurring. How marvelous they had the presence of mind, and the ability, to do this every year. A treasure.

Naughty naughty Angus....here it was I thought you just wanted a hard copy for sentimental reasons.

Happy New year to you both and can't believe the duo are two already :)
Would really like to know where you get your books done.. Thinking it is time to bite the bullet and start preserving the pictures... And yours look great.
Cheers
