TWO glasses of wine.

The local newsagent has taken orders for 87 copies of Charlie Hebdo. Quite something for a little market town with a population of 306. 5 copies are delivered. 'The Font' gets one of them. The print run has been increased from 1 million to 5 million. More copies are expected but not enough to meet demand.

Bob and Sophie try to make it clear, repeatedly, that one of the flock has gone missing. In the evening 'The Font' has two glasses of wine and a bar of chocolate. This wild behaviour tells you all you need to know about what sort of day it's been back at The Rickety Old Farmhouse.

Sounds like the perfect evening refreshment to me!
Cheers, Gail (Who also had a 'two glasses of wine and a bar of chocolate' day yesterday).

Looking at the state of Bob's and Sophie's paws and faces in the second photo - we can guess! 'The Font' has shown commendable restraint by stopping after two glasses of wine and only one bar of chocolate!

That's given me an idea for tonight's dinner...

Looks like the Font left Bob and Sophie to their own devices for the day....made me smile looking at them outside the door waiting (non) patiently to get back inside.
Two glasses of wine and a bar of chocolate...what a day!!!
As for the increased sales of Charlie Hebdo worldwide...that's what happens when you do bad things to others...it turns into something good.

Two glass of wine and a bar of chocolate sounds perfect to me as well.
Although the chocolate port I'm on at the moment is a rather good combination, both flavours in one glass!

i am a frech reader of your blog which i do enjoy and for which i thank you.
a mistery nto me is why you name your wife the font. Is it because she is une fontaine de charmes, de vertus et de bonté ?
bien à vous

Ah, TWO glasses of wine, but not the whole chocolate bar, would be more of a lovely day for us. Now THREE glasses of wine might have something to do with a naughty terrfier day!!!

Bet the Font will be happiest family member to greet Angus at the airport. I saw a Belgian chocolate bar at a gift shop yesterday, fancy wrapping and cost? A mere $25.00 . Ay yi yi

I know how 'the font' feels, I've also had a two glasses of wine and bar of chocolate days myself this week. I hope today is a better day at the Rickety Old Farmhouse, and you are doing well!

It's not the two glasses of wine, it's the chocolate bar that's telling.

Americans probably prefer the more modern 'fount'. I've been brought up with 'font' - from the old French.

font: font [fŏnt] 1. “basin,” O.E. font, from L. fons (gen. fontis) “fountain” (see fountain), especially in M.L. fons baptismalis “baptismal font.” 2. “typeface,” 1683, from M.Fr. fonte, fem. pp. of fondre “melt” (see found (2)). So called because all the letters were cast at the same time. (In England usually fount.)
