Clouds

Thunder, hail and strong winds last night. Watering cans blow away, garden umbrellas topple, gutters rattle. Bob and Sophie sleep soundly through the booms and shakes which is more than can be said for their owners.

This morning the temperatures is in the high teens. All the windows and doors are flung wide open to let the refreshing air into the house.

At five thirty a PONette and her master can be found standing at the side of the village pond staring at Coots and Moorhens. The Coot and Moorhen chicks scoot across the water lily leaves as we arrive. Such is the daily routine of a dog owner.

The judges for the Floral Village award showed up yesterday in the late afternoon. A humid, claggy time to undertake a tour of the village. The mayor had been up early putting out signs to ensure the tikes and the pre-schoolers didn't pick any of the carefully planted flowers.

The cows in the nursery field seem quite unperturbed about the changeable weather.

Bob is up and in the back of the car in readiness for our trip to the bakers and the cafe. He looks at his sister ( who is chasing a collar dove on the lawn ) with long suffering patience. Angus recognizes this as the family fellows  '' Of all the sisters in the world why did I get this one ? '' look.

I've asked myself that question on occasion...you can pick your friends but not your family, right Bob? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

"Owner", "Master"??? Don't you realize you are only their slaves?

You are of course quite right. 200% right when it comes to Sophie who is of an altogether higher order of creation.

You can tell Bob’s frustration, as his carrot is not showing any nibble marks!

The water birds seem to have Sophie's number. Sympathies to Bob, waiting for tardy siblings can be quite tiresome.
I hope the judges appreciated the flowers.

Impossible to think of a carrot sliver when you're looking at a shrieking diva.

We think Sophie will be looking for moorhens and coots long after they've moved on....if she's anything like a terrier.
