Less than elegant

We head off on our morning walk to find great excitement on the lane outside The Rickety Old Farmhouse. A combine harvester driver has managed to shed his cutter blades on the speed bump. A traffic jam ( if one Peugeot can be considered a traffic jam ) has formed.

The PONs investigate the scene of the mishap and then sprint off down the track that leads to the valley, the stream, the waterfall and the shade.

On our way back Angus sticks to the dirt track. The angelic duo disappear in and out of the sunflowers. Sophie shrieks. Bob chases her. Why have a walk when you can have excitement ?

The combine harvester has been reunited with its cutting blades. A cloud of chaff rises from the wheat field by the crossroads.

By the time we've made it home Sophie is looking somewhat less than Kennel Club elegant.

According to this map 3.3% of the French population live abroad. This is surprising as I've yet to meet a French person who thinks their food-climate- culture mix can be replicated anywhere else on the planet. Ireland is high. Scotland would be up there too if the numbers were split out from England :

Another fascinating map. The 43.3% is a tragic reflection on Bosnia's recent (and maybe not so recent) history. And I wouldn't have guessed that the number for Spain would be the lowest in Europe.
Re Sophie's post sunflower appearance - Bertie says who cares about Kennel Club elegant anyway!
Cheers, Gail.

Yes, I too noted the very high percentage of the Slavic states. Mlle. Sophie appears to be modelling the 'ecstatic romp' hair fashion which some women of a certain age are willing to pay very silly amounts of dosh for! YAM xx

The figures for the Baltic states are higher than I might have expected. Wonder what it is for the US?
Running through a field of sunflowers sounds like an excellent way to start your day.

A little fur spray, and Sophie is ready for a stylish runway!

Sophie's hairdo proves that if you're not worried about being svelte, you can have great fun ! Didn't Bob have a chance to de-threaten those cutter blades?

A lot of young french people are going to Australia , both for the experience of a more "exotic" country and to improve their english. Surprising how many french people we meet who say " I have a relative in Australia" , not to mention the english who say the same thing.
