Tiffs.

Sunrise.

There is no doubting that Bob thinks today is going to be the best day ever.

His sister concurs.

What could be a better start to the day than a walk along the lane, past the Roman oppidum and then down the track through the sunflower fields to the stream and the waterfall?  A dozen large lapis lazuli dragon flies catch Sophie's attention. She sits on the river bank and stares at them. Bob has a long drink from the waters edge and watches the minnows darting backwards and forwards.

On our way back home the family fellow carefully christens each and every hay stack. This slows down our progress considerably. There are a lot of hay stacks.

At the storm drain we pause. Bob and Angus discuss the tiff between the US and the UK. Angus is grateful the ambassador wasn't as outspoken as Rex Tillerson. The female PON turns on her back and slides down the bank. Delighted with this result she repeats it .

Coming through the village Sophie rushes ahead to glare at the Moorhens and Coots in the pond. The chicks are still too fast for the lens on the i-Phone to focus and catch them. Maybe tomorrow ?

That dog in the video looks like he knows it's going to be his best day ever too!

Love today's early morning pink tinged photos of the PONs.
The 'tiff' over our man in the US, and the likely outcome - a Johnson appointed Trump sycophant, are both deeply depressing.
Cheers! Gail.

The lapis lazuli dragonflies (known as demoiselles) are gorgeous, aren't they?! I'm sure they are the origin of at least some of the 19C fairy sightings.

It's looking hot and dry at your place. Bob and Sophie are good at posing for their photos. Even at so early in the morning.

I am hoping that ambassador is on the next Honours list.
Dragonflies as 19th-century fairies? I like Susan's theory.

He was brought up in a council house, educated in a state school and rose to the top through brilliance and hard work. He is called elitist by a group of shameless politicians who have inherited wealth. Sometimes I don't think I recognize Britain.

Both dogs look 'radiant'. (As an expat in Oz, I don't recognise the USA.)
