Festive.

The festive season begins at The Rickety Old Farmhouse. Over the weekend no less than three poinsettias are delivered to the front gate by the local florist. Neighbours who want to remember last weeks event. Something very French about that. Life's small events empathized with and recorded.

This morning Sophie observes with horror that Angus has his going away shoes on. I explain that I'll be back tomorrow after a quick check-up in London with the jaunty surgeon. As I drive off I'm convinced Sophie looks at me with a hint of 'Well! I never !' grumpiness.

And the first Christmas music of the year from a hot but festive Chennai. 100% humidity and temperatures in the 80's.  St.Andrews Kirk, a little touch of Scotland in the subcontinent : https://youtu.be/dms8bXxnZeg?t=5296
A song remarkable for its use of the words 'deeply wailing' no less than three times in succession. At the 1:36:00 mark viewers may observe that Indian Presbyterian decorating style is less restrained than that of their Scottish counterparts.

A familiar Advent hymn in an unfamiliar setting. So pleased the Christmas music theme is back.
Safe travels Angus, and here's hoping for a favourable report from the jaunty surgeon.
Cheers, Gail .

Dear Angus, Mme Font, Sophie and Family,
Having been away for a while, I have just ready the news. I'm so sad and very sorry. Such a special boy. Taken far too soon.
Dearest Wilf and Digby will take care of him now.
Safe travels.

Fingers crossed for a good visit to London, and a nice dose of Diva forgiveness for your absence.
If the Font is holding down the fort, all will be well, sweet Sophie. XXX

All these departures... what's a girl to think but 'abandonment sucks'?! Imagine the look when you return... my own good wishes added for positive assessment. YAM xx

Poor Sophie, she must feel abandoned. Hopefully, the font's cuisine will make her feel better....

Hope you receive a good report from your London surgeon. Safe travels home to The ROF!

Sophie will be relieved that there will be no lowering in the standards of cuisine at the ROF, Angus.
Have a safe journey and wishing you good news, and a speedy return. Don't forget, the Diva will forgive you for going away if you remember to bring her a gift! Surely somewhere there must be an automatically refilling yoghurt pot?

Hahaha! Yoghurt is a girl's best friend, apologies to Marilyn.

We love you Sophie! XXX

Given her rather "chilly" response to the rugby match (other than the hot dog cart), will Sophie be accompanying Angus in the future? Hope all goes well with the check-up. Perhaps the Font will decide this is the moment to "accidentally" drop a roast chicken to cheer Sophie's grumpiness.

I don't feel very festive this year. It was nice of your neighbors to drop off plants.
