Not this morning.

We're up late watching the debate . A  nerve jarring way to pass some time. On the bright side you'd have to say it gave a good insight into the characters of the two men. In that sense it did what it was supposed to do.  After the excitement Angus sleeps in and our walk round the village is twenty minutes delayed . There is much for Sophie and Angus to talk about at the storm drain.  By the time we return home from the morning walk the post lady is at the front gate with a parcel from America. Three bottles of Zymox. A must have for owners of long eared dogs. French customs have chosen to add $30 per bottle import tax on something that should retail for $7 or $8  -  presumably to safeguard the French domestic dog ear cleaner industry.

The good news is that Sophie doesn't have her ears cleaned this morning. She is not a fan of ear cleaning.

Great excitement in the village yesterday. The municipal  painting team arrive for their annual 'refurbishment' of the villages three speed bumps. One is outside The Rickety Old Farmhouse, one outside the chateau and a double one in front of the war memorial. The speed bumps do not seem to deter French drivers who view them as a challenge to be slalomed over at high  speed.

Sophie spends her afternoon guarding the house against possible intrusions by the gentlemen of the speed bump painting team. A PON girls life is one of high adventure and constant vigilance

"Nerve jarring" is one way to describe it - I've been anxiously awaiting your post as an antidote to all that negativity. I can get Zymox on Amazon Japan for about $20, so I guess I should feel lucky. Cherry also hates to have her ears cleaned and will literally glue one side of her head to the floor to avoid it - amazing how heavy a PON head can be. Of course, that leaves one side open, but I always have to remember which side's been done and which not.

Ear cleaning? Please don't give Gail ideas. You know, last might I most considerately woke Gail in the middle of the night so she could see how the debate was going, and she passed up on the opportunity. Perhaps a good decision? After all, it's not like she has a vote, and if she did there's no doubt which way it would go.
Meanwhile, we are both tickled by the rats.
Toodle pip!

The Tigger no fond of ear-cleaning either. It makes the skeletal framework go very limp and produces a remarkably heavy cat. It also makes his ears go very tightly flat against his head. He does however (in the manner of rats I suppose) come and ask for some 'scratching' inside his itchy ears, but only as long as he has determined there is no ear-cleaning materials close by.

On our walk yesterday, Inca and I noticed that the one and only speed hump, within kilometres of home, had been re-painted! Must be that time of year, for tomorrow we are having some of our garden walls painted too!
Our late and much missed Lab., Petite-Chose, had the most terrible ear problems and nothing we tried seemed to eradicate it for more than a week or two - we were always at the vets, seeking a solution. I keep a close eye on Inca's, which need the occasional clean, very swiftly followed by a treat or two!

I saw and bought lemon yogurt for the first time yesterday. You are an influencer. Is that the new car?

I remember you recommended Zymox to me for Merlin, years ago. It continues to be a godsend, thank you!

It seems to work. There must be something in it that European products don't have. Getting it a right royal pain.

No. The new one requires three days to get ready. Don't ask me why.
