Streaming

A hearty 'Bonjour' from Sophie who is keen to get her day started.

At this time in the morning the light streaming through the windows makes a weird and wonderful 'splattering' pattern on the wall in the upstairs hallway. Much of the glass in The Rickety Old Farmhouse has 'run' over the years . This causes these unusual displays. When it comes to light shows no two days are ever the same.

Six am and it's time to open  the church. We're not the first to be up and about.  The old mayor and his sidekick, the village Christmas decoration coordinator, are enjoying the cool air and weeding the flower bed in front of the church. In an hours time the mayor will head off to see his wife.

The flags are still out on the war memorial. The new mayor has left them up since early May. He's taken  the view that they might as well stay on display until Bastille Day on July 14th. I'll put money on them being up in September.

Lovely light in your hallway, but my first thought seeing the word "streaming" was you (with Sophie by your side and an appropriate drink in hand) will be spending the weekend on your couch streaming four international games to the ROFH! AB's v Ireland soon, and wishing Scotland all the best for their first game in this series.

The light is indeed gorgeous. Sometimes I wonder how your village managed to elect both the old mayor and the new mayor, as they seem to be light years apart in approach.

The two mayors are certainly of different generations and outlooks. One was born in 1939, the other in 1989.

Those early morning lights are mesmerising - your very own light display! Sophie must be fascinated.
We actually had a lie-in until 7a.m this morning. We woke to heavy cloud and almost gale force winds, so no early morning stroll in the cool of the day. We went out later and still managed to be the only ones out and about!
