Who knew ?

The moon is out as we head off through the sunflower fields. A five am kick off for Angus and Sophie before the heat and humidity become too much. Temperatures well into the 40's forecast for Sunday and Monday.

Sophie is now in her high summer routine.

This revolves around being out from five until ten in the morning and again from nine to eleven at night. In between times she dozes in front of a fan or replenishes her batteries on the cool kitchen floor. It is also the time of year when the freezer is full of frozen yogurt ice cubes. The perfect way to combat the heat. Strawberry is her absolute favourite although peach comes a close second.

Something about the light as I open up the church this morning. The stained glass creating all sorts of patterns on the frescoed walls. Colour layered on colour. The old mayor has chosen this morning to touch up the iron work on the front door. 'Perfect drying weather for the paint' he says happily.

The lawn now beginning to lose the battle against the heat. Brown and parched. Sophie settles down in the shade of a tree. She will stay here until it gets too hot and is time for her to come indoors.

If this heat continues to build we shall either aim for here :https://www.thetidalhouse.co.uk or here :https://www.loggerslodge.com/. Sophie will enjoy love either.

Vandalism at its best. Who knew you could switch off lights from outside ?:https://twitter.com/spignal/status/1546425004119695361

Either place, I'm available to carry your bags - or yoghurt pots for Sophie. Both sounds wonderful.

North Uist or Lapland? It might be disloyal to my adopted homeland, but I'm guessing the Swedish option might have less rain?
Despite the heat wave predicted to engulf much of the UK in a few days time, Gail is confidently predicting that there will be no need for Nobby to be fed frozen cubes of yoghurt here in Aberdeen...
Cheers, Gail.

I have often wondered why town centre businesses have their lights on all night, it's very wasteful of energy.
In our French village most of the lights go out at 11pm except for in the very centre where they stay on until midnight. Woe betide that you should be walking your dog at the moment when the whole place is plunged into total darkness and find you have forgotten your torch!

Does Sophie go for a swim to cool down?

Either place would suit me very well indeed! Though will there be snow in Lapland at this time of year?
I assume that you'll drive to whichever place you choose - or both? What fun and excitement for Sophie to explore and I hope that there may be suitably curly croissant ends available? Theer are some things a girl just can't do without.

My dogs got frozen yogurt treats, too. When bananas became overly ripe, I'd mix the bananas, peanut butter, and yogurt and freeze that mixture into cubes. Yummy human treats as well!
