Christmas Carol #14

A photo of Sophie by the dawns early light.  A feisty start to the day for the family diva.

Today we shall be talking to lawyers about the Volvo.

Any response from the Volvo chairman yet?

Conversations efficient and amicable with Gothenburg but the message hasn't got through to the national office in Paris or to the local garage who have not taken well to 'outside' forces being employed. Umbrage is perhaps the best word to describe their response.

Tomorrow is father's funeral... he was a great 'moothie' player, but we cannot have the band he played with due to regs for COVID. There will be clarsach.

OH dear... maybe Angus will have notes to compare with anger management man... YAM xx

We are so so sorry to hear of your loss. Your love for your father, and his pride in you, were clear in your comments. To go through this rite of passage before Christmas and amid all the complications of a lockdown must be a great burden to bear. Be sure that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May your father have the peace of fair winds and following seas and may you be blessed peace and strength for tomorrow.

I'm so sorry for your loss. This never happens a good time, these times make the loss more difficult. Blessings.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Yam.

I,too, am sorry to hear the news about your father, Yam. Your care and devotion must have meant so much to him.

An auto dealership in the US would, I'm quite certain, be falling all over themselves to correct a problem such as you have had with a brand new car. Including at the very least a loaner car to use. I have a fuzzy recollection of the VW dealer being rather prickly about replacing a windshield which cracked right after you brought the car home.

Anyway, hope you find a good lawyer.

I'm so very sorry, Yam. I know how difficult it must be for you at this time of year. I lost my mother at the same time several years ago, and I found that combined with the holiday period coming up it gave me an extra-painful emotional kick. I hope that you're supported by your friends and community and remember your father with love and happiness. Please take good care of yourself.

And Lisa, I was so terribly sorry to hear about Cherry. She was a wonderful dog and family member! I hope you're able to find a new family member to fill the hole in your heart, even though of course there can only be one Cherry, or one Bob...that's the price of their love, much as we all wish it weren't so, I know.

Laura, who reads about Sophie every day and feels like I already know all of you well after several years of lurking

Adding talking to lawyers to the already difficult world of the pandemic does not make for a Merry Christmas. Hopefully, at least the car calamity can be resolved.

So sorry that you are having such problems with a new car and the dealership. Hoping the Lawyer will get your car fixed or at least a new loaner car to use until the car dealer replaces your car.

Perhaps "when this is all over" you'll be able to have your father's band play at a memorial for him, on a beautiful, sunny day. Sending Rottie kisses, and wishes of strength and support to you.

One would think that the Volvo garage would do whatever they could - and very quickly - for you after knocking The Font down last spring.

Yamini, you remain in my prayers during this time of sorrow for your family.
