There's a strong wind blowing. I turn on the lights in the library and find the PONette stretched out, snoring, on the floor. She's wandered in here during the night, the door has closed behind her and she's fallen into a deep and untroubled sleep.
There was a time when she'd be up and about the very second she heard me come down stairs. Now she has arrived at an age where she segues, gracefully, and at her own pace, into her morning routine.
For those who wanted to see the bakers 'Bella' Easter creation, here it is.
This morning there is an American looking van parked outside the bakers. The driver of this 'Route 66' vehicle is wearing a checkered shirt with the sleeves cut off. He also has one of those ' Civil War' type beards.
This mornings croissant truly superb. A 9.6/10.
The radio now full of academics and what the French call 'politologues' talking non-stop about the first round of the Presidential elections this weekend. Events in Ukraine no longer dominate the headlines. The radio commentators talk over each other, reach dire conclusions and would have us believe the President is at real risk. This makes for excellent radio but Angus is unconvinced.

One wonders, based on the other decals, whether the driver of the van might be a supporter of Le Pen...and the van itself looks well battle-weary. Hoorah for such high-scoring croissant; mine is cold pizza this morning! YAM xx

Thanks for the photo of the 'Bella'. White with small dark splotches - not a million miles from Nobby's colouring!
The increasing closeness of the French presidential election is being reported here too.
Can I recommend a slow and beautiful film about truffle hunters in Italy's Piedmont forests, available on BBC iPlayer: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0016489/storyville-the-truffle-hunters
(It contains many scenes which the author of yesterday's link about dog-human good hygiene would consider X-rated...)
Cheers! Gail.
Sweet looking cow, and beautiful little lady of a certain age.
Each photo this morning, perhaps with the exception of the van (which would be at home in SE USA), is wonderfully calming. Unlike almost every news report.
We were wrapping up our move out of the house we are selling on Monday and welcoming a somewhat flummoxed Charlie back from his test run away from home, and I almost missed today's post. That photo of Sophie stretched out so comfortably after getting locked in the library is the essence of PON, and I really would not have wanted to miss Bella - or the link about parrot longevity. We have a little cockatiel named Oliver who has been with us for more than 25 years, as well as a 30-year old pionus parrot, and both are still going strong. Our brainiac African Grey is only ten.
I must admit to laughing when I saw the cow. Where/how would you start to eat it? It really looks too cute to devour.
Oh wow - a 9.6/10 croissant - awesome (I'm told that this is now the word to use for anything amazing).
