Torn.

The man at the garage has gone down with the flu. Seems everyone is going down with it here.  The big car had been taken to the car wash in readiness for being sold but now has a stay of execution. The glove box and seat pockets have been emptied of five years worth of detritus and the back hoovered to remove dog hairs. It almost looks respectable.

The Presidents poster, the one that had been torn in two, has been replaced. The replacement poster has already been vandalized. Even in a village of 67 souls the incumbent becomes a lightning rod for all manner of  disenchantments.

The poster of the candidate in second position in the polls is not vandalized. In previous elections the village tikes have given the 2nd and 3rd place candidates horns and a moustache. In fact , on reflection, by this stage the village tikes have usually 'improved' all the posters.

Sophie shows zero interest in the French political landscape. She wants to know when we're heading off to the river and the bakers for our shared croissant. Politics may come and go but a girls priorities are inviolable.

The flu? Almost forgotten about that.
Could the tikes have grown out of the poster improving stage?

Have you and "The Font" considered using some of the money from your big car sale to buy a couple of electric bikes? If the "dog mobile" is ever out of action (being fixed or one of you has it somewhere) there would be a second form of transport to get to local shops, activities and/or for the two of you to explore the region, at a slower pace, with a bottle of wine and a picnic lunch!

Sophie has indeed got her priorities right. Why worry about elections - unless the outcome heralds a rise in the price of Jaffa cakes, and the cost of the morning croissant?

I am with Sophie, avoid politics, but remember to vote.

Given the NHS has (finally) updated the list of potential symptoms for COVID, with a side-note that it resembles influenza and that too, to coincide with the removal of free testing, one could be cyncial and suggest that coronovirus is being recoloured as the new flu... I mean, who wants to keep seeing figures for COVID again rising and rising? YAM xx

"Marine" has not been vandalized? That is a bad sign!
Sophie is my guru and fashion icon. I strive to be more like her every day.

With all your negative experiences with the newer volvo (dog car), I am surprised it's not the first to go! The first Subaru (Forester) I owned (8 years ago) was such a lemon that two years later, one day after a tune-up and "fix" of an ongoing electrical problem (one of many problems), I sold the darn car!
