Snow.

Snow flurries when we head out of the front door for Sophie's six am 'comfort break'. It goes without saying that this spell of frigid weather has arrived after Angus has spent the day before in the garden planting out peonies. Who in their right mind would ever expect it to snow here in April ?

The first round of the presidential elections next week. This year a man in a white van comes and unloads the billboards with the posters already attached. In previous years the billboards would go up and then individual candidates would send out their teams to paste up the flyers. This new system is much more efficient. There are twelve candidates . In their photographs they are either stern or smiling.

Sophie finds something delectable in the oleander shrubs by the churchyard. Whatever it is brings her great joy. She stretches out on the gravel to fully enjoy it.

Sunday morning is when we go to the greengrocers. Sophie is harnessed up. This , for her, is a sure sign that curly croissant ends have a role to play in her future. Her tail goes into hyperdrive.

Last night we dine, virtually, in Stockholm :https://www.operakallaren.se/assets/local/menus/BF-och-OB-hemsida-2022.pdf

The menu looks very Swedish indeed!
Will Macron win again?

Trust me that menu is pretty international. Once you get outside Stockholm things can get very Swedish, very fast.
The government is subsidising petrol prices ( 18 cents off this week ) so it's hard to see how Macron loses unless something very surprising happens.

Curly croissant ends and something delectable in the hedge - the start of another best day ever for Sophie? Yesterday Inca "acquired" a dead baby bird, which must have fallen out of the nest. After a struggle, her mean owner (feeling extremely sad) managed to retrieve and dispose of it.
Will the government remove the petrol subsidy if they win?
From distant memory of time in Sweden, and visits to Stockholm, I think I've eaten at Operakallaren.

Late snows, early snows, distracting but they seldom last long. Unlike the sweet little diva, such a lovely face.

Early spring is so fickle. Sophie is so sweet.
