Looking East.

Random London insights.

In the hotel two croissants and a cup of coffee came to £25 , pre tip. This makes them 1280% more expensive than the versions served at the local bakers here in France profonde. They are not 1280% better. If anything they are 'sub-par'.

A new coffee shop has opened up that welcomes dog owners. From the taxi I can see a large, quite probably overweight, labrador asleep by the front door. People wander in and out. The dog ignores them. I have the suspicion the labrador makes sure there are no left overs.

In a restaurant a floor the like of which I've never seen before.

Cake shops always attract attention. The British idea of cakes very different from the French.

Someone has invested heavily in upgrading the electric bike stations but no one is using them.

Interesting snapshots from London. The restaurant floor is truly hideous and surely not an aid to good digestion. I think the bikes in the photo are the original human powered 'Boris bike' model and not ebikes?
Truly striking visuals in both links today - and well done St Andrews.
Cheers, Gail.

The cakes don't look particularly appealing, and if your two croissants and a coffee practically cost a King's Ransom, I shudder to think what the price of one of these cakes would be! Of course, every capital city is expensive, and the quality of food varies.
Imagine looking at that restaurant floor as you stand up, having imbibed rather unwisely!

Crikey, I might have not bothered ordering with prices like that. As for that floor - does it explain why the place looks devoid of customers?! Go St Andrews!!! YAM xx

Sophie wants to know if there is a cafe door she can guard? Preferably a place with cakes like that?

No matter if English or French, the pastries look delectable.

Wow thats pricey. Here people are complaining that a cup if coffee will soon cost $6 NZ (£3.17).
